Terms of Use
1. The App
Behind the Beauty is a professional organiser for licensed beauty professionals: client records, color formulation tools, consultation scripts, inventory, license and continuing-education tracking, and tutorials. It is provided by PXLPOP LLC (“we”, “us”).
2. Professional judgment
Color formulas, developer suggestions, Hair Scan readings, scripts and tutorials are general guidance only. They do not replace manufacturer instructions, patch tests, strand tests, or your professional training and judgment. You are solely responsible for the services you perform and for complying with the laws, regulations and licensing requirements that apply to you.
License-renewal information (fees, CEU hours, grace periods, board links) is provided for convenience and may be out of date. Always confirm with your state board.
3. Your data and your clients
You own the information you enter. You are responsible for it, including for obtaining any consent your clients' information or photographs require. See our Privacy Policy for how the App handles data. We strongly recommend keeping iCloud sync (Pro) enabled so your data is backed up; we are not responsible for data lost through device loss, deletion or failure to back up.
4. Behind the Beauty Pro (subscription)
- Pro is an auto-renewing subscription purchased through your Apple Account. Current options and prices are shown in the App before purchase.
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase, or at the end of any free-trial period.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the current period ends.
- You can manage or cancel in iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Deleting the App does not cancel a subscription.
- Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under App Store policies; we cannot issue refunds directly.
- If a subscription lapses, Pro features lock again but your existing data is not deleted. Records beyond the free limits remain viewable; adding more requires Pro.
5. Checkout and staff time clock (Pro)
Checkout helps you total a service and directs your client to pay you through your own Venmo, Cash App, PayPal, Zelle or payment-link account, or records cash and card payments you take yourself. We are not a party to those payments, do not process or hold funds, and charge no fee; each provider's own terms apply. Time clock records are kept on your device for your convenience; you are responsible for wage, hour and record-keeping compliance for your team and for the accuracy of any edits you make.
6. Acceptable use
Don't reverse-engineer, resell or redistribute the App or its content (including scripts, tutorials and imagery), and don't use it for anything unlawful.
7. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The App is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for losses arising from reliance on information in the App, and our total liability will not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the twelve months before the claim.
8. Changes
We may update the App and these Terms. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms. Material changes will be noted in release notes or in the App.
