This Privacy Policy explains how PXLPOP (“PXLPOP,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our website at pxlpop.com or any mobile application published by PXLPOP (each an “App,” together the “Apps”), including Apps released in the future unless a specific App provides its own supplemental notice.
By downloading, installing, or using an App, you agree to the practices described in this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Apps.
1. Who we are
PXLPOP is an independent mobile app developer based in Hackensack, New Jersey, United States. You can reach us at support@pxlpop.com.
2. Scope
This is a master policy. It applies to:
- All Apps developed by PXLPOP for iOS, including Apps currently in development, which will be distributed through the Apple App Store when released.
- All Apps we release in the future, unless that App displays a separate or supplemental privacy notice.
- Our website at pxlpop.com and any related services.
Where an individual App collects data beyond what is described here, we will disclose that in the App’s App Store listing and, where required, in an in-App notice before collection.
3. Our approach: on-device first
PXLPOP Apps are designed to process data on your device wherever possible. Camera-based features such as placard detection and document scanning process images directly on your device, and those images are not uploaded to our servers. Location-based features such as prayer times and Qibla direction use your location only on your device, only with your permission, and only while providing that feature.
4. Information we collect
We collect only the information necessary to provide the features of our Apps and website.
4.1 Information you provide to us
- Account information. Name, email address, username, and password (stored in hashed form) if an App offers a PXLPOP account and you create one.
- Content you create. Text, photos, videos, captions, hashtags, and other material you compose in an App for publishing to Connected Platforms (see Section 5). This content is stored only as long as needed to complete the publishing action you requested, plus any drafts or scheduling you choose to save.
- Website contact form. The name, email address, and message you choose to send through the contact form on pxlpop.com. These are emailed to PXLPOP and stored in WordPress so we can reply.
- Communications. Messages you send us through support, feedback forms, or email.
4.2 Information processed on your device
- Camera images. Used for features such as placard detection and document scanning. Images are processed on your device and are not transmitted to PXLPOP.
- Location. Used for features such as prayer times and Qibla direction, only with your permission. Your location is not transmitted to PXLPOP.
- iCloud sync. Some Apps may use Apple iCloud to sync your data between your own devices. This data is stored in your personal iCloud account under Apple’s privacy policy and is not accessible to PXLPOP.
4.3 Information collected automatically
- Device and technical data. Device model, iOS version, App version, language, and time zone.
- Diagnostics. Crash logs and performance data, shared with us through Apple only if you have opted in to sharing analytics with developers in your iOS settings.
4.4 Information we do not collect
We do not knowingly collect government identification numbers, financial account numbers (purchases are processed by Apple), biometric data, or sensitive personal information as defined under applicable law. We do not use advertising trackers on our website or in our Apps.
5. Social media publishing and Connected Platforms
Some of our Apps allow you to compose content once and publish it simultaneously to multiple social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, and Threads (together, “Connected Platforms”). Providing that feature requires certain user and platform data.
When you link a Connected Platform account, that platform shares data with us through its official API, in accordance with your authorization and the platform’s own terms and privacy policy. Depending on the platform and the permissions you grant, this may include:
- Your platform user ID, username, display name, and profile picture.
- Page, business account, or professional account identifiers you choose to connect.
- Access tokens that allow the App to publish on your behalf. Tokens are stored encrypted and are used only for the actions you authorize.
- Publishing results and basic post metadata (for example, post ID, timestamp, and success or failure status) so we can confirm delivery and show your publishing history.
- Aggregate engagement metrics for posts published through the App (for example, likes, comments, reach), where you enable analytics features and the platform makes this data available.
We do not access your private messages, friend lists, contacts, or content you did not create through the App unless a specific App feature requires it and you grant permission for that purpose. We comply with the platform terms of each Connected Platform, including Meta’s Platform Terms and Developer Policies.
6. How we use information
We use the information described above to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Apps and website, including publishing your content to the Connected Platforms you select.
- Authenticate you and keep your account secure.
- Store drafts, scheduled posts, and publishing history at your request.
- Display analytics and performance for content published through an App.
- Respond to support requests and contact form messages.
- Diagnose crashes, fix bugs, and improve features.
- Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms of service.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your content or Connected Platform data for advertising, and we do not use it to train artificial intelligence or machine learning models without your explicit consent.
7. Legal bases for processing (EEA, UK, and similar jurisdictions)
Where data protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on:
- Performance of a contract – to provide the App features you request, including cross-platform publishing.
- Consent – for linking Connected Platforms and for optional device permissions (camera, location, photo library, notifications). You may withdraw consent at any time.
- Legitimate interests – for security, fraud prevention, diagnostics, and product improvement, balanced against your rights.
- Legal obligation – where processing is required by law.
8. How we share information
We share information only in the following circumstances:
- Connected Platforms. When you publish through an App, we transmit your content and the necessary account identifiers to Instagram, Facebook, Threads, or any other platform you select. Once delivered, that content is governed by the receiving platform’s terms and privacy policy.
- Service providers. Vendors that host our infrastructure, send transactional email, or provide customer support. They may access data only to perform services for us and are bound by confidentiality obligations.
- Apple. Our Apps will be distributed through the Apple App Store, and any purchases or subscriptions will be processed by Apple under Apple’s privacy policy.
- Legal and safety. When required by law, subpoena, or court order, or when necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of PXLPOP, our users, or the public.
- Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy or a successor policy providing equivalent protection.
We do not share Connected Platform data with any third party except as necessary to provide the feature you requested.
9. Data retention
- Account data is retained while your account is active and for up to 30 days after deletion to allow recovery, then permanently deleted.
- Content and drafts are retained until you delete them or your account is closed. Content published to a Connected Platform is not retained on our servers after delivery unless you enable publishing history.
- Access tokens are deleted immediately when you disconnect a platform or delete your account.
- Camera images and location data are processed on your device and are never retained by PXLPOP.
- Contact form and support messages are retained for up to 3 years.
- Diagnostic data is retained in aggregated or de-identified form for up to 24 months.
We may retain certain information longer where required by law or to resolve disputes.
10. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate information.
- Delete your information.
- Export your data in a portable format.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
- Opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information (we do not sell or share personal information for advertising purposes).
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
How to exercise these rights
- Disconnect a platform: Open the App, go to Settings → Connected accounts, and select Disconnect. This revokes our access token. You may also revoke access from within the platform’s own settings (for example, Facebook Settings → Apps and Websites).
- Delete your account and data: Open the App, go to Settings → Account → Delete account, or email support@pxlpop.com. Deletion requests are completed within 30 days.
- Meta data deletion requests: If you connected a Meta platform and remove the App from your Meta account, Meta sends us an automated deletion request and we delete the associated data in accordance with Meta’s requirements.
- All other requests: Email support@pxlpop.com. We may need to verify your identity before responding. We respond within the time required by applicable law (generally 30 days).
We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
11. Permissions
Our Apps may request the following iOS permissions. Each is optional and requested only when needed for a feature:
- Camera – for on-device features such as placard detection and document scanning, and to capture content for publishing.
- Location – for on-device features such as prayer times and Qibla direction.
- Photos and media – to select content for publishing or scanning.
- Notifications – to alert you when scheduled posts publish or fail, or for reminders you set.
- Network access – required to communicate with Connected Platforms.
You can change permissions at any time in your iOS Settings.
12. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your information, including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, encrypted storage of access tokens, access controls limiting access to personal data, and regular security reviews. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you and relevant authorities as required by law.
13. International data transfers
PXLPOP is based in the United States. If you use our Apps or website from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses for transfers from the EEA, UK, and Switzerland.
14. Children’s privacy
Our Apps and website are not directed to children under 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction, which may be up to 16). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at support@pxlpop.com and we will delete it promptly.
15. Third-party platforms and links
The Apps interact with Connected Platforms and Apple services, and may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy policies, including:
- Apple: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy
- Meta (Instagram, Facebook, Threads): https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy
16. Region-specific disclosures

In the preceding 12 months we have collected the categories of personal information listed in Sections 4 and 5 for the business purposes in Section 6. We do not sell personal information and have not sold it in the preceding 12 months. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

17. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you through the App, by email, or by posting a notice on this page before the changes take effect. The “Last updated” date at the top indicates the most recent revision. Continued use of the Apps after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
